Director's Take
Downtown Vitality Continues to Grow
Dear Friend of Downtown,
I’ve been lucky enough to give several presentations lately on Downtown and what is taking place on our streets and to help encourage development. Most of the time, I’m met with smiles and nods in agreement about what we are seeing in the vitality and amount of activity after 5 years since COVID.
However, there are still remarks about how unsafe Downtown is or why should people come. I’m super close to the subject, so maybe it’s no surprise that it’s a shock to me to hear this after so many years of hard work by many.
Downtown is safe. Period, full stop. There are so many events and attractions in Downtown, we share them every week. So it is our own residents who are missing out on experiencing the excitement and energy of our own hometown if we don’t take advantage of these things.
And just as exciting to me, more people are coming to the office and new company locations continue to be announced in Downtown offices – with four new office moves just last month alone!
Yes, I have numbers to back up these statements. I would love to take a walk with anyone who wants to come Downtown so I can show you what I’m talking about. We are headed in the right direction, and it’s because there are a lot of people who believe in the importance and growth of Downtown.
See you on the streets soon!
