Director's Take

Spring Events
Dear Friend of Downtown,
Happy Spring! Downtown just keeps getting better and better. Not only does LDP put on events, but there are so many events that other organizations and venues are holding that the Downtown calendar is just amazing.
These events range from concerts to Broadway shows to baseball and soccer games to museum exhibits, and more. I especially love the events that are in unique settings, that allow you to experience special urban areas that just don’t exist anywhere else, and also invite you and your community to come together to celebrate spring and cool things to do! I mean, what could be better?
So, already underway, the ever-popular Food Truck Wednesday has returned with a weekly selection of 4-6 food trucks on the block of S. 4th Street, between Jefferson and Market, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., with picnic tables and different musicians every week.
Our first Downtown Drive-In movie, Pitch Perfect, kicks off the series next Friday, May 16, with your choice of snacks and local beer at every event. Watching a movie with the sun setting behind the river is the perfect way to end a busy week.
And we are busy planning our next Happy Hour event and scheduling the 2nd annual Pickleball Street Fest, sponsored by Angel’s Envy! Stay tuned!
The bottom line is this fellow Downtown fans, there are things to do and there are lots of people who are having fun doing them. If you are ever on the fence about which days to come to the office – we are making it easier for you to decide! Check out more details for these fun events here!
