Park(ing) Day

Park(ing) Day is a public, participatory project where people across the world temporarily repurpose curbside parking spaces and convert them into public parks and social spaces to advocate for safer, greener, and more equitable streets for people. Instead of cars, individuals will see small parks, seating areas, art displays, and creative pop-up spaces lining the streets.

Hosted by LDP and the Louisville Metro Department of Transportation (DOT), Downtown Louisville’s will take place on Friday, September 18 from 10am – 3pm along the Main Street and 4th, 5th, and 6th Street corridors into lively, creative community spaces. Participating organizations and companies will convert individual parking spots into pop-up parks, seating areas, art displays, interactive experiences, and other creative spaces.
