Flower Pot Program

Originating in 2006, the popular Downtown Flower Pot Program began with 33 flower pots on 3 blocks of South 4th Street. Today, there are approximately 200 flower pots on streets across Downtown Louisville. Administered by Louisville Downtown Partnership (LDP), the program is sponsored by companies, organizations, and individuals who help to fund seasonal plantings and day-to-day maintenance.

The program renews streetscapes by introducing colorful botanical elements that not only beautify the environment but also create a more welcoming and engaging atmosphere for residents and visitors alike. Seasonal plant rotations occur in the spring and fall while watering happens bi-weekly during warmer months.

LDP is looking to grow the Flower Pot Program and needs your support! The sponsorship of an LDP planter is a transformative gift that enhances an entire block, creating a shared sense of pride and connection among local businesses and residents. For new sponsors, there is a $600 one-time buy-in to the program that allows LDP to purchase a new pot, plus an annual maintenance fee of $605, which covers spring and fall plantings and watering throughout the year. After the first year, the annual maintenance fee per pot is all it takes to keep the flowers blooming and Downtown Louisville looking like a vibrant, color-splashed canvas of community spirit!
