Director's Take

That’s A Wrap
Dear Friend of Downtown,
Wrapping up a year and looking to the next year is always a momentous occasion, as it is a time to reflect on accomplishments, shortcomings, and new directions.
2024 was a good year in Downtown Louisville! As we’re still crunching the numbers, everything looks like it’s trending in the right direction… 8 new office locations, with more in the pipeline; 32 new retail businesses; 37 new announced developments which, with 36 developments underway, means over $2 BILLION of investment! And the number of people in Downtown continues to increase year over year.
LDP did okay too, if I do say so myself… we launched several new programs, hosted more than 50 events, started implementation of the Downtown Strategy, and helped the mayor kick off a new office to residential conversion fund.
I couldn’t be more excited for 2025. We are poised for great things, and I hope you are along for the ride. Between public space improvements, public art, events and activations, and more developments on the horizon, the momentum is here and Downtown is on a roll.
Happy holidays and hope to see you in 2025!
