SHOP SMALL AT DOWNTOWN’S SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY
VENDOR FAIR
Louisville Downtown Partnership celebrates national Small Business Saturday
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (November 17, 2023) – Saturday, November 25, 2023, is Small Business Saturday – a day to celebrate and support the small business community. In collaboration with the Louisville Marriott Downtown Hotel, Louisville Downtown Partnership (LDP) is hosting a pop-up vendor fair to promote and support the varied and strong collection of small businesses in Louisville.
The vendor fair will be held at the Louisville Marriott Downtown, on the 2nd floor ballroom, located at 280 W. Jefferson St. The event will run from 10am – 3pm on Saturday, November 25, 2023.
“Small Business Saturday is the kick-off to holiday shopping and provides the perfect opportunity to support shopping at local and small businesses to boost our local economy,” said Rebecca Fleischaker, executive director of LDP. “The Downtown vendor fair highlights local and regional businesses and brings them to one place for a festive and easy shopping experience.”
In addition to the business fair, the Parking Authority of River City (PARC) will offer free parking at all Downtown meters to support the day.
“We are proud to be an integral part of supporting our local businesses and welcoming our community into downtown,” said Jennifer Cummings, Director of Sales and Marketing, Louisville Marriot Downtown. “Through this partnership, it is our hope that others take part in supporting not only our small business community but initiatives of the Louisville Downtown Partnership.“
The vendor fair will feature more than 35 vendors, including clothing and jewelry, gifts, soaps and balms, sauces and seasonings, and more. The event is free for the public to attend.
Founded by American Express in 2010 and officially cosponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration since 2011, Small Business Saturday has become an important part of small businesses’ busiest shopping season. Historically, reported projected spending among U.S. consumers who shopped at independent retailers and restaurants on Small Business Saturday reached an estimated $17.9 billion according to the 2022 Small Business Saturday Consumer Insights Survey commissioned by American Express.
