Downtown Ambassadors Make Valentine’s Day a Little Sweeter for Downtown Workers and Visitors
Muth’s Candies Distributed to Mark the Holiday
WHAT:
Downtown Ambassadors to deliver chocolates to Downtown workers and visitors. Hundreds of chocolates to be passed out across Downtown to celebrate Valentine’s Day, as part of an annual tradition. The candies were made by Muth’s Candies, a local business celebrating 100+ Valentine’s Days in Downtown Louisville. Each piece of candy includes a note that reads “You can’t spell Louisville without L-O-V-E” in appreciation of our many friends who live, work and visit Downtown.
Block by Block will also be including a raffle opportunity with prizes including gift certificates from Wiltshire and Mi Casita on Fourth. Winners to be announced by Monday.
WHEN/WHERE:
Valentine’s Day, February 11th through Valentine’s Day, February 14th.
Valentine’s Day candy distribution:
- Feb. 11: Pre-concert at KFC YUM! Center and Whiskey Row, 5:45-6:45 p.m.
- Feb. 12: Dance Competition at Kentucky International Convention Center, 221 S. 4th St., 4:00-5:00 p.m.
- Feb. 13: Pre-UofL Women’s basketball game at KFC YUM! Center, 12:00-2:00 p.m.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
For 16 years, we have been celebrating Valentine’s Day with a candy giveaway from our Downtown Ambassador team. Downtown Ambassadors are widely regarded as the “face of Downtown,” with over 16 Ambassadors logging over 31,000 hours to provide cleanliness, maintenance, and security services to Downtown’s physical environment. Downtown Ambassadors work to create a positive experience for both Louisville native and tourists alike.
