Celebrating 35 Years of the Louisville Downtown Management District
This year marks 35 years of the Louisville Downtown Management District, half of the Louisville Downtown Partnership organization, and we’re asking you to help us celebrate with a donation of at least $35 on Give for Good’s annual day of giving. When you give, you become a Friend of Downtown!
No matter if you give $35 or $350, your contribution to LDP will:
-
- Directly fuel our Downtown Ambassador program to keep Downtown clean and welcoming
- Transform underused public spaces into CitySpots
- Brighten Downtown with public art initiatives like art installations and murals
- Foster social connections through community events that bring people together
The Louisville Downtown Management District (LDMD), Kentucky’s first Business Improvement District, was established in 1991 to strengthen the economic, residential, and cultural life of Louisville’s urban core. Working in partnership with the Downtown Development Corporation (DDC) under the Louisville Downtown Partnership (LDP) umbrella, we build a clean, safe, and vibrant Downtown through cleanliness, safety, beautification, marketing, and strategic advocacy.

Downtown Louisville. Everyone’s Neighborhood.
Downtown Louisville is the economic, cultural, and social heartbeat of the region. Within a day’s drive of two-thirds of the U.S. population, we’re strategically positioned for business, tourism, and development. As hometown to Muhammad Ali, Jennifer Lawrence, and Jack Harlow, Downtown is one of only a dozen U.S. cities with all five major performing arts groups, the nation’s second-largest collection of cast iron facades, and historic Whiskey Row, where more than a dozen distillery and tasting experiences sit just minutes apart.
Representing less than one percent of Louisville’s total land mass, Downtown boasts
-
- 67,000+ workers from more than 100 ZIP codes
- 10,000+ residents calling Downtown home
- 35 million annual visits to our city center
- $3.2 billion in underway or announced investment transforming our urban core
- $14.4 billion in gross domestic product driving regional vitality
