  The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) announced the awarding of a contract for a bridge railing repair project on George Rogers Clark Memorial Bridge or Second Street Bridge.

  The repairs will begin tomorrow, October 24, and consists of steel repairs to the bridge railing along the sidewalk. General repairs to the sidewalk will also be done.

  Motorists should expect lane closures and traffic shifts as construction progresses. Additionally, pedestrians are advised of possible sidewalk closures through the completion of the project.
  The date and duration of this work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.

  Louisville/Jefferson County Metropolitan Sewer District (MSD) has closed E. Liberty St. between Campbell and Wenzel streets for an emergency repair of a sewer line beneath the pavement.

  The Louisville/Jefferson County Metropolitan Sewer District (MSD) has closed the northbound lanes of Second Street between Muhammad Ali Boulevard and Liberty Street for the emergency repair of a sewer line running beneath the pavement on Second Street. Currently, only one west bound lane of Muhammad Ali is open. There is no estimate on how long this repair will take.

  The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of routine maintenance work scheduled on Interstate 64 West in Jefferson County beginning tomorrow, October 3.

  KYTC maintenance crews will perform shoulder sweeping and drain cleaning on I-64 West between mile marker 5 (Exit 5B/3rd St./River Rd./Downtown) and mile marker 4 (Exit 4/9th Street/Roy Wilkins Ave.), requiring lane closures from 9am to 3pm. The right lane will be closed on Tuesday, October 3, and the left lane will be closed on Wednesday, October 4.

  Designated signs in the area will notify drivers of the work.

  Portions of E. Liberty Street to Close for Emergency Repair

  Beginning February 20, 2023

  Louisville/Jefferson County Metropolitan Sewer District (MSD) will close portions of E. Liberty St. beginning Monday, February 20 for an emergency sewer line replacement under Liberty Street between S. Clay and E. Chestnut streets.

  The section of E. Liberty Street between Wenzel and Chestnut streets will be partially closed, starting next week, to allow for pavement cutting. Beginning February 27, E. Liberty Street between Wenzel and Chestnut streets will completely close to replace the pipe in that area.

  The estimated completion date for repairs is June 16, with paving and milling completed by July 7.

  *All work will pause and the roadway will open between April 21 to May 8 for the 2023 Derby Festival activities.

  Main St is scheduled to be repaved between Brook & 2nd Streets during the week of 3/15, which should take care of the restoration work. This paving will take a few days to complete and will necessitate lane closures, but the road will not be closed.

  The Triple Crown 10K is the 2nd leg of the Louisville Triple Crown of Running series for 2022. The series consists of a 5K, 10K, and 15K race leading up to the Kentucky Derby Festival Mini‐ and Marathon.

  Scheduled to start at 8:00 am on Saturday, March 19th, the 10K will start at Brook and East Market Streets in downtown Louisville.  The Triple Crown 10K event will take place within the central business district of Downtown Louisville.  The course routes south on Brook Street, west on Chestnut, north on 9th Street, east on Liberty, north on 5th Street, west on Market, north on 7th, and east on Main Street to finish just west of Louisville Slugger Field.

  Streets along the route will be fully closed to non‐participants and vehicular traffic, except Main street between 2nd and 3rd Streets. Barricades and traffic barrels will separate the northbound lane of Main Street to accommodate southbound 2nd Street Bridge traffic being diverted. Traffic will be allowed to cross throughout the course when safe.
