Park(ing) Day

Friday, September 19 | 7am – 6pm

Park(ing) Day is a global, public, participatory project where people across the world temporarily repurpose curbside parking spaces and convert them into public parks and social spaces to advocate for safer, greener, and more equitable streets for people.

September 19, Louisville Metro Government and Louisville Downtown Partnership are hosting a local Park(ing) Day in Downtown Louisville. To view a list of participating businesses and locations, visit the link below.

Our Pop-Up CitySpot

Our Park(ing) Day pop-up CitySpot, located in the 500 block of W. Jefferson St., transforms an ordinary parking space into a welcoming outdoor oasis featuring additional seating provided by 500W, turf donated by ForeverLawn, and art-wrapped planters filled with bamboo – designed and installed by Booker Design Collaborative – that form a lush green wall around the space. The artwork – designed by Often Seen Rarely Spoken – reimagines iconic Louisville elements and can be found at the JPMorganChase CitySpot.
