Director's Take
New Office
Dear Friend of Downtown,
I walk into my office differently now. I feel a new ease in the job I’m supposed to do as I cross that threshold, somehow more relaxed and confident. I also see a wall of windows facing the river and beautiful downtown buildings that, in my 25 years of working Downtown, I have never seen from my office before. It could be that.
When I started in this role nearly two years ago, we were hidden away on a pretty but quiet street. And for the paradigm shift that we really needed, not just in our organization, but in Downtown too, I knew that we needed to be more visible and to tell the very important story of why Downtown is vital to our entire city.
Details matter, and where our office sits matters. It took awhile, but here we are! In a newly renovated tower, closer to the middle of Downtown, with nice visible signage at street level, and modern office space, I find myself continually inspired and reminded to do good for Downtown because of what I see every day.
Our office is open for meetings and tours. I will happily take you on a (short) walk-through of our office if you’d like, by way of Barista Parlour for coffee on the way.
And if I don’t see you in our hallways, I hope to see you on the streets soon!
