Director's Take
June Rocked
Dear Friend of Downtown,
Y’all crushed it in June! Thank you for showing up and showing out at the various events in Downtown over the last month… I feel a collective excitement, pride, and love that I haven’t felt in awhile.
LDP kicked off its new Food Truck Wednesday series, we co-hosted the first Downtown Cyclouvia event, and we were a sponsor of the 5th annual KY Craft Bash at Waterfront Park. It’s been a busy month and your shared energy just proves we’re doing something right!
These events are fun in and of themselves, but it doesn’t go without saying that your participation in them shows the world that Downtown is a fun, vibrant, and safe place to be. LDP is working on creating more spaces and adding more community events, because it is the ‘feet on the street’ that create the vitality, energy, human interactions, and safety in Downtown.
I also need to give a shout out to the soccer games, baseball games, distillery experiences, concerts, Broadway series shows, and more that also add to this vibrancy!
If you are on the fence about whether you are ready to return to Downtown, participating in one of these events is the opportunity you’ve been waiting for. You may even see people you know! It’s just the way these fun events go… creating community takes all of us.
I hope to see you on the streets soon!
