Dear Friend of Downtown,

We are about halfway through event season, and we’ve had an amazing month or so in Downtown! Even more, Mother Nature has been exceptionally generous and here’s crossing fingers and toes that she continues!

The thing about September and October in Louisville is that it’s the other time of year besides spring and Derby that we shine the prettiest. The hotels have been bustling and I’ve noticed a lot more people on the street. There have been a few weekends with so many conflicting events that even the most energetic among us can’t fit it all in. WorldFest, Big Four Bridge Arts Festival, Bourbon and Beyond, Louder Than Life, Oktoberfest, St. James Art Fair, Bowman Fest, baseball games, soccer games, concerts, Taco Festival, Asian Night Market, Louisville Beer Fest… I’m already out of breath and those aren’t even all of them!

Louisville Downtown Partnership is adding one to the lineup, and I’m so excited for the inaugural monthly S. 4th Night Market this Thursday! This is something I’ve seen in other cities and there is no reason we can’t have one too. We are doing it on S. 4th St. to help draw people to this picturesque urban block in Downtown – it’s a narrow street with ample sidewalks, cutout parking spaces (perfect for vendors!), and has lots of great storefronts in beautiful buildings. It bridges S. 4th St., from Fourth Street Live! to The Louisville Palace.

We help you keep track of all the great events in Downtown, but we know it can be overwhelming. And the last thing we want is that you don’t even know where to start… so starting this week, we are sending out a new weekly events email blast called Downtown Happenings for the weekend and following week’s goings-on. Sign up here!

And come to the S. 4th Night Market, so I can see you on the streets!
