About Huntington’s Disease:
Huntington’s disease is a rare neuro-degenerative brain disorder that devastates families for generations upon generations—emotionally, socially, and economically. Symptoms usually appear in an individual between 30 and 50 years of age and progress over a 10 to 25 year period until death. Juvenile HD has been diagnosed in children as young as two years of age. More than 30,000 people in the United States are currently diagnosed with HD and over 250,000 people are at risk. Siblings and children of those diagnosed with HD have a 50 percent risk of developing the disease as well.
