Post photos with the tag #BourbonDistrict for a chance to win Bourbonism prizes and help us choose who should win best bourbon for Louisville's official drink the Bourbon Old Fashioned.
Venue: Downtown Louisville
Start Date: Jun 7th, 2019 - 12:00 AM
End Date: Jun 14th, 2019 - 12:00 AM
As part of the Old Fashioned Fortnight celebration, all photos with the #BourbonDistrict hashtag posted publicly to Twitter, Facebook or Instagram between June 7th and June 14th will be counted towards the contest. The distillery with the most tags at their location or featuring their product will be declared the best of 2019 and presented with the trophy on National Bourbon Day.
Kick-off for this event will be on June 7th, Republic Bank First Friday Hop, and will include street art at distillery locations, bourbon art at Music Alley Market and gallery openings all over Downtown Louisville.
For the second year in a row, The Louisville Downtown Partnership invites distillers to participate in a bit of friendly competition to celebrate the official drink of Louisville, the Old Fashioned. Because Bourbon should be celebrated for weeks, not just a day, this competition will take place during Old Fashioned Fortnight and coincide with the Republic Bank First Friday Hop, beginning on June 7 and concluding on June 14 – National Bourbon Day. We challenge all participating bourbon district distillers to create their own unique Old Fashioned where bourbon is essential, but bitters and orange peels are optional – in other words, get creative. We encourage guests to enjoy an old fashioned twist on Louisville’s favorite cocktail in the Bourbon District and share on social media with the tag #BourbonDistrict. On National Bourbon Day, all photos with the #BourbonDistrict tags will be tallied and the distillery with the most tags in their favor will win the Fortnight trophy until next year. The photographers who participate will be put in a drawing to receive bourbon district prizes as a thank you for supporting our favorite Bourbon District distilleries.
